Food and I are best friends. There are times when I crave a meal so bad that I will drive miles (and sometimes even go to another state) to get it. Food has always been an integral part of my family. My mom is an awesome cook and I owe it to her for enjoying food so much. I’ve also been blessed to have “small” genes and have never really had to worry about my weight. Of course there have been times when my jeans have not fit, but I am grateful that weight is something that I’ve never had to struggle with.
I basically eat what I what, when I want it. So needless to say I don’t need anything to increase my appetite. However, for the last two weeks my appetite has been off the hook. The culprit? The prenatal vitamins that Dr. N told me that I needed to start taking. Taking prenatal vitamins prior to conception has many benefits: not only does it provide you with all the nutrients your body needs to help you conceive but it also helps you have a healthy pregnancy. It provides you with folic acid to help reduce the risk of fetal spinal defects, and it has vitamin B6 which is proven to help reduce episodes of morning sickness.
I don’t think I’ve ever been this hungry before. I feel like I’m already eating for two. Let’s just hope I don’t have to start buying bigger clothes until I really am eating for two. 🙂
